What will the U.S. midterm elections mean for President Trump’s final two years—and for the wider world?
Historian and U.S. expert Niels Bjerre-Poulsen offers a historical perspective on today’s political landscape. The lecture will last about an hour, followed by questions and discussion.
No registration required. The lecture is in English, and guests from outside the department are welcome.
Niels Bjerre-Poulsen is an associate professor of American history at the University of Southern Denmark and a frequent commentator on U.S. politics in the Danish media. His research focuses on American political history, political culture, and U.S. foreign relations.

Kasper Grotle Rasmussen visited the ASCA and gave a fascinating research seminar, ”Hyphenated Histories in Times of Crisis: Studying American(ized) Conspiracy Theories in Denmark,” for members of the Cultural Transformations research program, which sponsored the event. In addition, Kasper generously agreed to give a separate presentation on ongoing challenges in American studies and foreign language studies more generally for the Department of English at Aarhus University.
