Fulbright grants for Danish students (Fulbright Denmark)
Grants for Master’s and PhD students who want to study or do research in the US for one semester (DKK 50,000) or two semesters (DKK 100,000). Open to Danish citizens.
Deadline for 2027–28: February 17, 2027.
American-Scandinavian Foundation fellowships
Funding for graduate study or research in the US for up to a year. Danish applicants are recommended through Fulbright Denmark, so apply there.
Exchange through Aarhus University

aspeers: emerging voices in american studies
A peer-reviewed journal for MA-level American studies students in Europe. It publishes revised term papers and thesis chapters of up to 7,500 words.

HCA Spring Academy (Heidelberg Center for American Studies)
An annual conference where about 20 international PhD students in American studies present their projects and receive extended feedback.
Next academy: April 5–9, 2027. Application deadline: November 15, 2026.
Nordic Association for American Studies (NAAS)
The biennial NAAS conference is the main meeting place for Americanists in the Nordic countries, and students are welcome to attend and present. The next conference is due in 2027.
Museum of Danish America (Elk Horn, Iowa)
Semester-long internships in collections management, exhibit development, graphic design, PR and more. Housing, a vehicle, visa costs, and a monthly stipend are covered. Requires a bachelor’s degree.
